MORRISVILLE — Want to find a renewable energy system that is more reasonable for the location you live in? Morrisville State College’s Renewable Energy Training Center is offering a workshop that will focus specifically on that.
On Saturday, July 14 a one-day workshop, "Wind or Solar-Which Renewable Energy System is Right for Me?" will be offered at MSC.
The workshop is $30. To register call 684-6391, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
RETC staff will guide participants through a preliminary site assessment for their property to determine what renewable energy system (wind, solar photovoltaic, or solar hot water) is most practical and economically feasible for their location. This workshop will have a quantitative analysis and include the use of Microsoft Excel and free online resources. Participants should bring their utility bill, address of site, calculator and laptop.
During the workshop activities will include: reading a utility bill to determine monthly fluctuations, annual total energy consumption, cost per kWh, and System Benefits Charge. Participants will be estimating the solar resource using existing data, and determining shade analysis.
