Children’s Room events signup under way at Jervis
Sign-up has begun for summer activities in the Children’s Room at Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St.
Calendars for the summer reading program are available in the Children’s Room. Open to children birth through grade 7, reporting reading minutes begins the week of Monday, July 2. The final party for all participants will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 with prizes and refreshments.
Those who are older than age 13 can see Librarian Lisa Kinna about the Teen Reading Program or stop by the reference desk for information about the Adult Reading Program.
Other summer library events:
¿ A Masquerade Tea Party, a fancy dress-up event with Children’s Librarian Lorie O’Donnell, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 20 for all ages, and at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-14. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
¿ Lemonade on the Lawn, a family story time followed by cookies and lemonade with O’Donnell, will be held Thursdays in July and August beginning July 5 at 10:30 a.m. on the library lawn. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Children’s Room. All ages may attend, and no registration is required.
¿ The Family Films program will be held Tuesdays, July 3 through Aug. 28, at 2:30 p.m. Stop by the Children’s Room for a list of titles. No pre-registration is required, and seating will be on a first-come basis. Doors will open at 2:10 p.m. All ages may attend, and drinks and popcorn will be available.
¿ Family Fun will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesdays, July 11 through Aug. 8, in the Children’s Room. All ages may attend and no registration is required.
¿ Utica ZooMobile, featuring Animals of the Night, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 11.
¿ Summer Splash Festival with games, crafts and other activities will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 on the library lawn.
¿ Puppets With Pizazz, featuring Jack and the Beanstalk, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 25.
¿ Merry Mischief, fun with song and story, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1.
¿ Howl at the Moon with a Wild Thing Tune, with musician Tom Selling, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.
¿ Pajama Story Time will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 9 and Monday, Aug. 6 in the Children’s Room. Children should wear their pajamas and bring a pillow. All ages may attend and no registration is required.
¿ Teddy Bears’ Picnic, stories and games with O’Donnell, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10 on the library lawn. Children should bring a lunch and their teddy bear.
