New Hartford Y will debut its
anti-bullying film Saturday
NEW HARTFORD — The New Hartford YMCA Children’s Film Making Program will debut it’s anti-bullying film, "Batting Zero: Chronicles of a Bully," at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at New Hartford High School on Oxford Road.
The event is free and open to the public. The film is the culmination of a 24-week Children’s Film Making Program that began in January at the YMCA SACC Site in New Hartford.
The instructor is Chase Clifford, a native of Utica, who recently returned to the area after 22 years working in Hollywood as an actress and producer.
"The timing of this project is perfect", said Clifford, film program facilitator.
"With bullying being such an epidemic in the world and making top stories in our media, this gives the children a voice and vehicle to express their concerns."
"Our goal is to continue with similar programs designed to give children an outlet to express themselves on issues they face today," said School Age Child Care Director Danielle Trzcinski.
