An 18-year-old is accused of attacking another man on North Madison Street in the middle of the night, sending him to the hospital early Wednesday.
Police said Desmond Clark, of 910 Batavia Ave., attacked a 45-year-old man who was walking along North Madison Street at 2:12 a.m. June 20.
Police said Clark repeatedly punched the man in the face and head, causing him to black out. The victim was treated at Rome Memorial Hospital.
In a statement to police, the victim said he did not know Clark. The victim told police that Clark suddenly jumped off his bicycle and attacked.
Clark was taken into custody Friday and is charged with third-degree assault and second-degree harassment, police said. He was held in lockup overnight to await arraignment today in City Court.
