Signups under way at Dorfman
The Ava Dorfman Senior Center, 305 E. Locust St., has a wide variety of offerings from composting to Zumba, with signup also under way for bocce leagues, a walking group and other activities.
For registration for any events call 337-8230. Health-screening and physician release forms are required for fitness classes.
Signup is under way for:
Belly Dancing classes starting Thursday; Basic Fitness starting June 27;
Senior Stretch Yoga starting June 29 and bocce leagues.
Zumba taught by Karen Spindler will begin Tuesday, July 3, at 10 a.m. This "fun and exciting" program was designed for the active older adult. Latin styles of music and dance are used. An 8-week session costs $40 or $32 for members.
The Monday morning Walking is seeking at least one more member.
You can still join ongoing fitness programs that started in April and May.
Community programs include a lesson on composting and container gardening Thursday the rescheduled Card Party Sunday.
Primary Day is Tuesday, June 26. The center is an election site so the Center will be open until 9 p.m. for those who want to vote.
Arts & Crafts Program will meet on Thursdays at 1 p.m. in June and the Arts & Crafts room will be open daily for independent artistry from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
A painting class is proposed if enough sign up.
A Sept. 5 bus trip is planned to see "Cabaret" in Auburn and trips have been suggested for Niagara Falls and Alexandria Bay.
