VERONA — Oneida Indian Nation officials announced today a three-year extension to host the Turning Stone Races.
The second annual Turning Stone Races will consist of a half-marathon as well as 5- and 10-kilometer races the weekend of Aug. 25-26.
All races start and finish on the grounds of the Turning Stone Resort and Casino and take runners on a journey through farmlands and wooded areas of Upstate New York. Nearly 120 individual prizes are up for grabs for men and women of various age brackets as well as wheelchair competitors. All finishers will receive a medal.
Entry fees for each race include hydration and fueling stations, medical support, baggage handling, security and an official shirt.
After each race, an awards presentation will be held and refreshments will be provided for the runners.
