Kidneys education Wednesday
Wednesday Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare will host "Love Your Kidneys¿Know the Score," an educational session on kidney disease. The presentation begins at 5 p.m. in Weaver Lounge at the Faxton Campus, 1676 Sunset Avenue, Utica.
Those interested in learning more about kidney health are invited to attend.
Laura Squadrito, director of Programs at the National Kidney Foundation of Central New York, will present "Love Your Kidneys¿Know the Score." She will discuss kidney health and the risk factors for kidney disease as well as provide tips on how to reduce your risk for the disease.
Nearly 26 million Americans suffer from chronic kidney disease a condition that impairs the kidneys’ ability to properly function. Two-thirds of cases are caused by diabetes or high blood pressure, and may go largely undetected until the disease advances.
FSLH is dedicated to providing quality community education programs. This event is part of a series of education programs for the community on health-related topics, including wellness screenings and proper nutrition.
