Midnight Mike plays Blues Society jam

Rome’s Midnight Mike will perform at the Mohawk Valley Blues Society jam at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at The Snubbing Post, 8221 Rome Westernville Road, state Route 46, between Rome and Delta Lake State Park.

The band will be followed by jammers until 10 p.m. The event is open to the public, and all blues musicians are welcome to sign up and play. Admission is $3, $1 for Society members who show their membership card. Anyone wishing to join the Society can do so at the door or online at www.mohawkvalleyblues.org.

The colorful career of Midnite Mike has included performances in Texas, California and Florida, and numerous times on Beale Street in Memphis. He gained exposure abroad with engagements in Italy, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Canada, and Greenland. He appeared at Woodstock ’99, and has played with Joe Bonamassa, Jerry Portnoy and Ritchie Blackmore. He opened for BB King at the Rochester Lilac Festival and Stanley Theatre, and for Albert King at the Daisy Theatre in Memphis. He also has opened shows for James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, James Montgomery and "Luther Guitar Jr." Johnson.
