VERNON — Vernon Downs will host 1970s music Sensation America for a benefit concert that will support the Food Bank of Central New York Thursday, July 5.
Renowned for hits like "A Horse With No Name," "Ventura Highway" and "Tin Man," America will take the stage under the stars at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the show are available for $10 at the Vernon Downs Casino Player’s Club and all Ticketmaster locations. Representatives of the Food Bank will also be at the concert collecting food and donations for their organization. Chairman of American Racing and Entertainment Jeffrey Gural said he will donate $5 from each $10 ticket sale. He will also give 50 cents for every $1 that is donated during the show.
"I recognize that many people in our community continue to struggle during these difficult times and I thought this was the best way for myself and our company to express our thanks to everyone for the support we have received over the last six years," Gural said.
Last year $58,246.13 was raised through ticket sales for the Pat Benatar concert.
