Dominick Russitano, 88, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Hartford.
He was born on August 25, 1923 in Canastota the son of Rosario and Anna Ortolano Russitano. On November 15, 1942 in Canastota he married Anita Marmol who passed away on December 12, 2004. He was a graduate of Canastota High School. He proudly served with the US Army during WW II.
He retired, after working for many years, from Revere Copper and Brass, Inc. He enjoyed wood crafting, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was an accomplished musician having played the clarinet and saxophone.
Dominick is survived by his beloved and cherished family; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anita "Tina" Ryan of CA and Donna and Bruce Galarneau of FL, a son Garret "Gary" Russitano of Floyd, fourteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Velinda "Linda" Russitano of Floyd, a sister Rose Stagnetti of Sherrill, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sons, Dominick Russitano, Jr. and Rosario "Russ" Russitano.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
