Patricia (Pat) Langone

Pat Langone, 71, of Eastern Star Nursing Home, Oriskany, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012 in Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital, Utica, after a long illness.

She was born on February 14, 1941 in Utica, the daughter of Clara and Bronis Wyzina. She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1958. On September 5, 1959 she married Dick Langone in New Hartford. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage before her husband predeceased her in December 2011.

Pat loved children and found great joy in caring for them in her day care center for many years. Before her retirement she was employed by the Rome City School District as a teacher’s aide. She was affectionately known by the students as Mrs. L.

Pat was a member of the South Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Rome. Her greatest joy was visiting with others about bible topics and teaching them about her God, Jehovah. She will be remembered for her love of animals, her artistic talent, beautiful crafts and delicious cooking. As a woman who dedicated herself to those she loved, she was a concerned and appreciative daughter, loving and supportive mother and a committed wife. She gave endlessly to family and friends.

We are reminded of the quote, "Successful is the person who has lived well, laughed often and loved much, who has gained the respect of children, who leaves the world better than they found it, who has never lacked appreciation for earth’s beauty, who never fails to look for the best in others or give the best in themselves."

Pat is survived by her beloved family, two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Johnson of Randallstown, MD, and Laura and Michael Wisenburn of Rome; two cherished grandchildren, Rebecca and Jason Wisenburn; a sister, Bonnie Knapp of Rome; a brother Robert Wyzina of Utica; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Rose Barlesi of Windsor, CA. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Dick Langone; a son-in-law, Carl Johnson; her beloved grandson Darren Johnson; her parents Clara and Bronis Wyzina; and her sister-in-law Terry Wyzina.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 3rd at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6615 Potter Road in Rome. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, New Hartford. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
