Schedule for Rome event; sites of other relays

The 14th annual Relay for Life will be held starting at noon Saturday at the State School for the Deaf, 401 Turin St. Registration will be at the Registration Tent from 5-7 p.m. Friday, 9-11 a.m. and 3-8 p.m. Saturday and from 7:30-9 a.m. Sunday for teams to turn in donations and get site maps and event information.

Opening ceremonies at noon will feature the Civil Air Patrol, a message from Rome Relay Ambassador Robert Wagner and the Survivors and Caregivers Victory Lap. Entertainment will be on-going by Glory B, Frayed Knot, Jimmy Wolf, Bernie Szczesniak, Third Street Project, Whisper and Baddogg.

The 8:45 p.m. Luminary Ceremony will feature singer Brenda Chandler, John Fabrizio and Midnight Mike & Friends.

A church service will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, followed by the Team Final Lap at 10 a.m., led by Marybeth Quinton Cosentino, with bagpipes and drums. The Closing Ceremony and awards will be by Bruce Melnick.
