Oriskany will wait until Friday for a shot at Section III Class D title
The Section III Class D contest between sixth-seeded Oriskany and top-seeded Brookfield was postponed due to rolling thunderstorms in the area Tuesday afternoon and is scheduled to be made up on Friday starting at 4:30 p.m. at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse.
The Redskins, which are 16-5 overall, have won their last three games, including a 6-1 victory over Center State Conference Division III foes New York Mills on Saturday night during the semifinals at DeLutis Field.
Brookfield enters with a 17-1 overall record and are the defending Section III Class D champions.
Meanwhile, the Oriskany softball squad are in action tonight during their Class D semifinal contest against top-seeded Hamilton at Kost Fields in Rome starting at 5 o’clock.
The No. 4 Lady Redskins defeated McGraw, 11-0, in the quarterfinals. The winner of tonight’s game faces the winner between No. 6 Alex Bay and second-seeded Stockbridge Valley on Saturday at 4:30 at the Hopkins Road Park Complex in Liverpool for the class championships.
