Edward Alden Wardwell

QUEENSBURY — Edward Alden Wardwell died on May 28 at his home in Queensbury. He was born in Rome, N.Y., July 20, 1917, the son of Daniel W. and Mabelle Olney White Wardwell. He was a graduate of the Phillips Exeter Academy and Cornell University and a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity.

Ed was a project engineer at the former Imperial Color and Chemical, proprietor of U-RentAll and a partner in the Fall Line Ski Shop. He married Peggy Arkison Eaton, daughter of John and Isabella Duncan Eaton, on July 10, 1943 at St. George’s Church, Schenectady.

His parents; his wife; three brothers, William White Wardwell, James Fletcher Wardwell, and Daniel W. Wardwell Jr.; a sister, Elizabeth Wardwell Williams; and an infant son all died before him. He is survived by two children, Elizabeth Wardwell and Richard Eaton Wardwell; four grandchildren, David Bradley Clapp, Duncan Edward Wardwell, Amy Eaton Clapp, and Ethan Kelly Wardwell; one granddaughter-in-law, Amy Rock Wardwell; one grandson-in-law, Michael Bryan Fallis; four great-grandsons, Quinn Robinson Wardwell, Alexander Eaton Wardwell, Edward Russell Fallis, and Theodore Janson Fallis; and one great-granddaughter, Celia Elizabeth Janet Fallis.

His remains were donated to the Albany Medical Center anatomical gift program. At his request, there will be no memorial services.
