‘John & Jen’ in View Sunday

OLD FORGE — "John and Jen: An American Musical" will be performed Sunday at 2 p.m. at View, 3273 State Route 28.

Tickets are $10 for general admission seating by calling 369-6411 or visit the box office open Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday Noon-4 p.m.

This is a family friendly event and should be suitable for ages 10 and above, View officials said.

This award-winning musical is performed by Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.

It is the story of Jen and her relationships with the two Johns of her life: her younger brother, who was killed in Vietnam, and his namesake, her son who is trying to find his way in a confusing world. This original musical takes a look at the complexities of relationships between brothers and sisters and parents and children, set against the background of a changing American between 1950 and 1990, John & Jen is "a gem of a show brimming with intelligence wit and beautiful melodies," View officials said.

Critic Matthew Crowley of The Post Star called it "A powerful family affair."

John & Jen is a musical about connections, commitments and the healing of the human heart. This musical is perfectly in tune with the ideals purpose of Memorial Day Weekend.
