BOONVILLE — A Watertown woman was charged with driving without a license as a result of a 9-1-1 call to check the welfare of a child at the Big M grocery store Tuesday.
Boonville Chief David Galler said police received a call to check the welfare of a 2-year-old child who was not placed in a child safety seat while in the parking lot of the grocery store on Route 12-N. An investigation revealed that Heather Miller, 26, drove to the parking lot to meet her estranged ex-boyfriend who placed the 9-1-1 call after making a custody transfer of the child. It was later found that Miller did not operate her vehicle while the child was inside, Galler said. Miller was provided with a child safety seat at the scene and was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license. She will appear in Village Court.
