Lady Bulldogs claim crown at invitational
The Westmoreland girls track and field team won the championship at the Morrisville-Eaton Invitational on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs recorded a team score of 167 to beat runner-ups Pulaski and Waterville at 89 points.
Skyler Zawko was victorious in the 100-meter dash, the long jump, and the triple jump. She also set a new meet record in the triple jump on a leap of 35 feet, 2 inches.
Alison Brockway was also victorious in the high jump at 4-6, and Kendra McGregor won the discus throw at 78-4.
HP 13th at C-NS invite
In boys track and field action, Holland Patent placed 13th at the Cicero-North Syracuse Invitational.
The Golden Knights tallied a score of 16 points, as the hosts won the event with 98 points.
The HP 3,200 relay team of Erran Gates, Barrett Celecki, Todd Stevens and Kevin Sidoran finished in second, while Elliot Connors placed third in the pole vault, and Noah Roberts picked up fifth in the 400 hurdles.
Adirondack golfer scores ace
Joey Pettinelli of the Adirondack boys golf team hit a hole in one on Sunday at Kanon Valley Country Club during his team’s practice round for today’s Section III Class B tournament.
Pettinelli used a 5-wood from the championship tees on the 217-yard 17th hole.
