"I find that there are not enough outlets for dance experimentation for emerging and established artists in Central New York," says Kit Pang, founder and organizer. "My goal is to bring together dancers and choreographers to strengthen our dance community by celebrating different dance styles, ideas and talents through public performances."

The production of Spotlight | The Choreographers’ Showcase will feature original pieces by Chevaun Jackson, Tevin Johnson, Trevor Jones, Leighanna Kennett, Sarah Mattacchione, Kit Pang, Ellen Sinopoli, Jamie Sitera, Sandra Stanton, Geethapriya Thamilarasu, Royce Zackery and Tricia Zegarelli.

In addition to the performances, dance master classes in ballet, contemporary, modern and hip hop will be taught by Spotlight’s choreographers Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Spotlight | The Choreographers’ Showcase is made possible with public funds provided by the New York State Council on the Arts and administered through the Cultural Resources Council.
