Anti-bullying forum Friday
A public forum with tips for implementing the state’s new anti-bullying law will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Utica College, in the Strebel Student Center hosted by the New York Civil Liberties Union.
The forum is free and open to the public. Parents, students, teachers and school administrators are welcome to attend.
NYCLU Assistant Advocacy Director Johanna Miller will review the Dignity for All Students Act, which takes effect in July, said the NYCLU.
Miller will discuss school district obligations, including reporting, training, and designation of a "point person" for each district to handle bullying issues. She also will provide tips on how students, parents, teachers and administrators can best address and prevent bullying.
