Police investigate possible break-in

A possible break-in at the smoke shop Exit 420 on North James Street is being investigated by law enforcers.

Detective Commander Timothy J. Bates said a person called 9-1-1 at about 5:30 a.m. today to report the sound of breaking glass in the 400 block of N. James St. Bates said someone had broken the glass on the front door of Exit 420 and possibly used that to then open the door and get inside the building

Police are waiting for the store owner Muhammed Ali, of Utica, to do an inventory of his products to determine what was stolen.

Bates said that police are investigating several possible leads.

Employees at Exit 420 have been cited twice recently with illegally possessing synthetic marijuana, according to police.
