Two charged in DWIs

A 21-year-old man who registered a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal threshold was found with his car running in a stranger’s driveway early this morning.

Police said Kyle A. Jones, of 120 Byrnes Ave., was found sitting behind the wheel with the engine running in a driveway on Oakwood Street at 2:52 a.m. According to the arrest report, Jones told the officer who found him that he did not know whose driveway it was.

Police said Jones registered a bac of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Jones is charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, authorities stated. He is scheduled to appear in City Court on May 29.

¿ A 53-year-old man was charged with driving drunk after law enforcers said he ran a stop sign Friday afternoon.

Police said Timothy M. Froelich, of 114 MacArthur Drive, was pulled over on Colonel Drive for running a stop sign at 6:35 p.m. Police said Froelich registered a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent. He is charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, running a stop sign and no insurance, authorities stated.

Froelich is also scheduled to appear in City Court on May 29.
