Sally Page tourney on deck Saturday at Kost Fields

Rome Free Academy softball will host its annual Sally Page Tournament on Saturday with varsity and junior varsity teams hitting the diamonds at the Kost Fields Complex.

Action begins at 9:30 a.m. with first-round action for both varsity and junior varsity followed by the tournament’s conclusion starting at 11 a.m. for the consolation and championship games.

The RFA varsity Lady Knights will look to claim the tournament for the sixth straight year and will pair up with Carthage in the first round. Proctor High of Utica will battle Fayetteville-Manlius in the other opening-round game.

Rome is 5-10 overall as a member of the Central New York Counties League, and Frontier League member Carthage holds a 2-6 mark. The CNYCL’s F-M Hornets will battle the Lady Raiders from the Tri-Valley League, with F-M holding a 4-9 record and Proctor sporting a 6-5 mark.
