Cancer survivors invited
Cancer patients and survivors are invited to the annual Survivors’ Breakfast Saturday, May 19, at Chestnut Commons, 107 E. Chestnut Street.
Rome Memorial Hospital, Mohawk Valley Radiation Medicine and Linda Schicker, M.D. team for the event.
"Our cancer patients and survivors are extraordinary examples of strength, hope and inspiration," explained Director Amy Weakley, radiation therapist and certified medical dosimetrist at Mohawk Valley Radiation Medicine. "This breakfast is our opportunity to celebrate with them and reflect with them on the power of hope."
Each survivor or patient is encouraged to bring one guest. Breakfast will be served from 8 11 a.m. and includes:
¿ A "delicious, varied" breakfast buffet menu;
¿ Gifts compliments of Mohawk Valley Radiation Medicine; and
¿ Registration for the Relay for Life Survivors’ Lap.

This annual breakfast is an opportunity for area cancer patients and survivors to gather before the American Cancer Society’s annual Rome Relay for Life that will be held Saturday, June 2 at the State School for the Deaf. The event begins with the Survivors’ Lap at noon on Saturday and continues into Sunday, National Cancer Survivors’ Day. This year’s theme is "Dive in for a Cure."
