Mohawk Valley IEEE awards scholarships to six students

The Mohawk Valley Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers awarded scholarships to six local high school students.

Each recipient of the IEEE Charles Strom Engineering Scholarship award received a $500 scholarship.

This award is named in honor of Charles A. Strom, a respected electrical engineer known throughout the world for his pioneering efforts and contributions to the art, science and practice of communications. The award is given out annually to high school seniors and college undergraduates who demonstrate outstanding talent in engineering related math and sciences and will enroll in a related field of electronic or electrical engineering.

This year’s award recipients are Jacqui Scibior, a senior at Whitesboro High School; Kevin Palmiotto, a senior at Herkimer High School; Bianca Little, a senior at Vernon Verona Sherrill High School; Emily Potter, a senior at Proctor High School; Hunter Chruscicki, a senior at South Lewis Central School and Michael Fraser, a senior at St Regis Central High School.
