Railroad recruits volunteers
The Adirondack Scenic Railroad is holding a volunteer recruiting event Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Union Station, Utica.
Volunteers will be on hand at ticket office to discuss volunteer opportunities, including train service positions like (train crew and car hosts, equipment and facility maintenance, and special event support. Volunteers should be at least 18 years old, outgoing, reliable and have a willingness to learn. Volunteers are needed at all locations, Utica, Thendara, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, and training will be provided. No prior experience is necessary.

The Adirondack Scenic Railroad is a tourist railway that operates between Utica and Lake Placid. Train crews are largely made up of volunteers.
