Go Red luncheon Wednesday
WHITESBORO — A heart health fair will be part of the Go Red For Women Luncheon, Wednesday in Hart’s Hill Inn. It starts at 10 a.m. with the luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m.
More women die of heart disease than all forms of cancer combined, Heart Association officials said.
As luncheon guests arrive, they will be welcomed with a Red Dress Pin — a symbol for the fight against heart disease in women.
The heart health fair will let visitors learn about stress management, cooking healthy, their personal risk of stroke and much more.
For registration contact the American Heart Association at 266-5403.
Chrissie Hughes, a young mother of three, will share her personal and compelling journey as a survivor of heart disease. Results of the Corporate Challenge will be announced at the luncheon. Five companies in the Mohawk Valley have taken on the challenge: Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, First Source Federal Credit Union, AmeriCU Credit Union, Revere Copper, Inc and Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare an eight-week workplace wellness challenge that kicked off March 5.
As a continuation to help spread the word on importance of employee wellness programs, the American Heart Association is offering Brown Bag Lunches to companies in the community interested in learning more on this topic.
