Store clerk, customer arrested in alcohol bust
LOWVILLE — Both a liquor store clerk and his customer were taken into custody in Lewis County Friday night after law enforcers said the customer was only 20.
Sheriff’s deputies said Cody Farney, of Bardo Road, was pulled over for a traffic violation on Bardo Road at 8:13 p.m. The deputy then found two bottles of liquor inside the vehicle, and Farney was charged with possession of alcohol for a person under the age of 21.
Then the deputy found out that Farney had purchased the alcohol at a local liquor store.
The officer went to the store and the clerk who sold the alcohol, Cole K. Pominville, 19, of West Road, was taken into custody for endangering the welfare of a child, deputies stated.
Both men were released on appearance tickets to Village court.
