Lacrosse, T-ball signups scheduled

VERONA — The Oneida Indian Nation Recreation Department will host lacrosse and T-ball signups for boys and girls for a free instructional program running from May to June that is open to the public.

The coed lacrosse program for players between the ages of 6-10 is set for Thursday from 6:45-7:15 p.m. running from May 1 to June 5. The second instructional class is for boys in grades 9-11 running from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursdays May 4 through June 7.

The coed T-ball program is for participants between the ages of 6-10 runs on Tuesdays from 6-6:30 p.m. on May 1 to June 5 at the Oneida Nation softball field on Territory Road. Players must bring their own glove. All other equipment will be provided.

Registration and waiver forms for both programs must be completed by a parent or guardian prior to the first practice. To register, contact Dakota Bluewolf or Ben Kimball at the Oneida Nation Recreation Department at 829-8484.

King of Kings Run set for Sunday

UTICA — The inaugural 5-kilometer King of Kings Run will take place on Sunday starting at the Parkway Recreation Center at 9 a.m.

Race day registration will be held between 7:30-8:45, or entry forms can be downloaded prior to the event on the Web at: www.kingofkingsutica.com

The cost for pre-registration is $20 and race day registration is $25. There will be t-shirts presented to the first 50 entrants, and awards will be given out to overall and age division winners.

The event is a fundraiser for the King of Kings SAT Prep program in conjunction with the high school summer league that will be held in July.

Viviani scores hole in one at Teugega

Teugega Country Club member Frank Viviani of Rome posted a hole in one at the club on April 18. Viviani used a 4-iron to ace the 149-yard 15th hole. The shot was witnessed by Gary Clemens, Bill McCormick and Gene Sanborn.
