Holland Patent rolls to baseball win

The Holland Patent baseball team picked up a 12-4 road win over West Canada Valley in a rain-shortened non-league contest on Saturday.

The Golden Knights tallied 12 hits on the hosts as the game was cut short to five innings due to rain.

Nick Roberts batted 3-for-3 with three RBIs for HP, while Cody Crego hit 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double, and Ryan Smith was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Hal Reigi recorded the winning pitching decision while allowing four hits and striking out four through four innings of work.

HP’s record moves to 4-2 overall and they will host Whitesboro on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.

Redskins defeat Bulldogs

Oriskany came away with a 8-3 triumph over crosstown rival Westmoreland in a Center State Conference crossover game.

Dan Buehler doubled and Noah Lupini tripled for the 7-1 overall Redskins as Pat Manna recorded the win on the hill.

Andrew Zimmerman took the loss for the 2-7 overall Bulldogs.

Oriskany visits Old Forge on Tuesday and Westmoreland will look to rebound at Waterville on Wednesday. Both games begin at 4:30 p.m.
