Housing rights talk Monday
Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., will host "Know Your Housing Rights." The free, public event will take place on Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the library’s wheelchair accessible auditorium.
It’s in collaboration with Fair Housing Council of Central New York based in Syracuse.
"During the program, Education and Outreach Coordinator Terry Eckert will discuss laws and important facts concerning discrimination to educate people about their rights and responsibilities and will offer resources and advocacy options available through the Council," Assistant Director Kari Tucker reported.
The Fair Housing Council of CNY, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equal housing opportunities and eliminating discrimination during the sale, rental, or advertisement of housing.
