50 to become citizens
in County Legislative Chamber

About 50 people are scheduled to become U.S. citizens in a naturalization ceremony at the County Office Building, 800 Park Ave., Utica.

The public program begins at 10:30 p.m. Friday in the Legislative Chamber on the 10th floor, reports Oneida County Clerk Sandra J. DePerno.

Officials will welcome the new citizens to the county and present them with naturalization certificates. A reception will be hosted by the William Floyd Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Speaker will be Family Court Judge Joan E. Shkane. Norman I. Siegel is the state Supreme Court Judge.

Representative from the League of Women Voters will be present to register the new citizens to vote.

DePerno’s office holds four naturalization ceremonies a year.
