Million Air at Griffiss gets pilot magazine top honors
Aviation-related services provider Million Air at Griffiss International Airport is part of the group that recently won top honors in an annual survey conducted by Professional Pilot magazine.
Million Air was announced as Pro Pilot’s 2012 No. 1 large chain fixed base operation. Million Air operates a corporate and franchise network of 30 FBO locations in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Million Air Rome, owned by Freeman Holdings of New York, is located in the main building at the county airport and has 11 full-time employees.
The group finished second in last year’s ranking for airport service providers with 11 or more locations. Service providers are rated by pilots in such categories as line team, customer service representatives, facility, amenities, promptness and efficiency, and value for price.
Meanwhile, Million Air reports it received the highest score in the top five service providers in Aviation International News 2012 FBO Survey.
"We are so proud and honored to be ranked No. 1 FBO chain in the United States for 2012 in both trade journals," said Roger Woolsey, Million Air’s chief executive officer. "Million Air believes that we become what we are committed to. We are committed to providing the best customer experience with the best employees, so it’s so great to see when our customers believe in what we are doing."
Million Air services at Griffiss include fuel, deicing, lavatory service, hangar rentals, tie-downs and hotel reservations. It began operations at Griffiss in 2008, taking over a function that had formerly been handled by airport employees.
The long runway and ramp space for military aircraft attracted Freeman Holdings to Rome.
