WHITESTOWN — The 911 emergency dispatch center is holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as part of National Telecommunicators Week.

Tours will be offered. The center is located at 120 Base Road, near the sheriff’s office and county jail.

Dispatching services are provided for all law enforcement, fire and rescue services in the county. The center received about 362,000 calls last year, according to the county executive’s office.

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. said, "Whether you are a volunteer firefighter who wants to see what happens when the calls originate, or just an interested citizen who wants to know more about this vital part of the services county government provides, we encourage you to attend this open house and come away informed."
