Marijuana charge after Thruway stop for speeding

WESTMORELAND — A Rochester man was charged with possessing marijuana after he was stopped for speeding on the State Thruway Monday.

Darren A. Evans, 41, of 1254 Genesee Park Blvd., was found with a quantity of marijuana and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was additionally charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after troopers found that his license had 18 suspensions on six dates, State Police Troop T in Syracuse said.

Evans was arraigned in Town Court and sent to county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond. He will return to court today.
