Send wedding report while it’s still news

It’s news when someone gets married, but news is information about recent events.

It’s a busy time after a wedding and honeymoon, writing thank yous and getting back to work, but don’t delay too long on getting your wedding story in the paper. Something that happened months and months ago gets to the point where it’s no longer news -- word has gotten around and everybody already knows it.

Information for wedding writeups must be received in time to be written up days ahead and published (normally Mondays) within a year of the wedding. The free news stories about weddings cannot be used after that.

Forms for announcing engagements, weddings and anniversary celebrations are available at the information desk at the Daily Sentinel, 333 W. Dominick St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
