Salvatore J. DeSimone, 84 of Rome passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 in Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 6, 1927 in Rome, a son of Julius and Mary Scattarazzo DeSimone. On November 27, 1948 in St. John the Baptist Church, he married Stella Cangiano.
He attended Rome Schools. He retired in 1988 from Revere Copper and Brass, Inc.
Salvatore is survived by his beloved family; his wife of 63 years, Stella, daughters and sons-in-law; Denise and Lawrence Kalk of Rome, Anne Marie Thayer of Rome and Lorie and Michael Mudd of MD, cherished grandchildren and their spouses; Kriste Kalk Ross and Ryan Ross, L. Matthew Kalk, Russell J. Thayer, Marianna D. Thayer, Angela and Kevin Mayo, Tracy Mudd, three great grandchildren; Cody J. Singletary Thayer, Isabella Ross and Blake Palyo, a sister Mary Domenico of Rome, a brother and sister-in-law; Frank and Grace DeSimone of Clinton, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Martha and John Muttillo of Rome, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters; Katherine Brewster, Angeline Belardinelli and Pearl Finnegan and three brothers; Michael DeSimone, Joseph DeSimone and Anthony DeSimone.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:00 at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
