Held in felony sexual abuse

TOWN OF NEW BREMEN — A Lewis County woman is facing a felony charge for sexually abusing a pre-teen girl.

Lowville-based state police said Angela S. Hirschey, 28, of 5636 Division St., Lowville, had sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl at a residence in New Bremen on March 31. Troopers said Hirschey was taken into custody Thursday, and is charged with first-degree criminal sexual act, a class B felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Hirschey was arraigned and sent to county jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to reappear in Town Court on April 11.
