Wednesday Morning Club concludes 119th year

The Wednesday Morning Club held its luncheon March 28 at the Beeches to commemorate the end of its 119th year.

Approximately 110 members attended the event. Outgoing President Maxine Strong thanked members for their participation in weekly programs throughout the year.

The new officers, who will each serve two-year terms, are: President Clare Mirabelli, First Vice President Margaret Palmer, Second Vice President Jacquelyn Keys, Secretary Jennifer Evans-Fitzgibbon, Assistant Secretary Mary Carmel Wolf, Treasurer Mary Ann Ruby and Assistant Treasurer Ann Hapanowicz.

Students from Rome Free Academy entertained club members with song excerpts from "Jesus Christ, Superstar." The rock opera was performed at the high school under the direction of high school music director Jake Meiss and choral director Michelle Rushford.

Co-chairs for the luncheon were Connie Hurd and Ines Worlock. Committee members were Ellen McMonagle and Nancy Pallas.
