Accused of punching woman holding child
A 21-year-old man is accused of attacking his girlfriend on West Dominick Street Sunday night while she was holding their young son in her arms.
Police said Paul M. McAloon, of 615 W. Dominick St., repeatedly punched his girlfriend in the face multiple times, causing bruising and a split lip, at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the woman was holding the couple’s 18-month-old son in her arms when McAloon attacked.
In a statement to police, the victim said the argument started over McAloon’s drinking.
McAloon is charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, police said. McAloon was arraigned in City Court and is scheduled to reappear.
