CAMDEN — The Collingsworth Family returns to the Camden High School Easter Sunday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m., for a Southern Gospel Concert. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.

It’s free with an offering to cover the cost, said Dr. David Bubb, pastor of the sponsoring Queen Village Bible Church. CDs will be on sale.

Kim is known for her "phenomenal mastery of the piano," Phil Sr. plays the trumpet and two of their daughters, both married within six months, play violin while they all sing.

"Excitement, spiritual anointing, family-emphasis, and musical excellence are what you can expect to find when you step across the threshold of the auditorium for an Evening of Family Worship and Praise with The Collingsworth Family," it states on their website, adding "The ministry God has given Phil & Kim has expanded and flourished until it is a full-time livelihood that involves their entire family. Their boundaries of influence have expanded until they have sung and played all over the United States (as well as internationally) into their 26th year of ministry."

The family has been regulars on many of the Gaither Homecoming Concerts, making appearances with Gaithers in some of their largest venues in the US and Canada.

The group performs in all types of venues across the US, the Cayman Islands, recently in Sweden and in past years such places as Kosovo entertaining troops.

The group’s newest full-scale studio project, "Part Of The Family", released in September, includes its current national radio single, "Tell The Mountain" written by Lee Black, Sue Smith and Kenna West.

Daughter Courtney won the two most recent awards for the family last year: Young Artist Of The Year and Horizon Individual of the Year, both from Singing News Fan Awards.

For more information call the Queen Village Bible Church 245-2516.

The Camden concert — generally held each two years on Easter evening — follows an appearance in Ontario, and an April 7 concert in Port Crane in Broome County. After Camden, the family performs in Bridgeport, W.Va., Aril 13. The family will also perform on a Gospel Music Celebration Cruise next January.
