Jean Frances Lucas, age 90, of Rome, passed away peacefully, January 26, 2012.
She was born February 3, 1921, in Newcomb, NY, a daughter of the late Harry and Marguerite Gallagher McNally, and graduated from Olmstedville High School in 1940. Jean was united in marriage to Stephen Lucas, on September 21, 1942, in Ascension Church in Tonawanda, NY; he died December 31, 2007. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Ava Dorfman Senior Center, Bethany Gardens Guild and Rome Women’s Bowling Association.
Jean is survived by three daughters and two sons in law, Patricia Lucas of Greer, SC, Donna and David Smith of Reading, PA, and Jeanne and David Waite of Rome; a son, Stephen Lucas, Jr. of Rome; a son in law, Donald Brown; sisters, Mildred Barnum, Rosemarie McNally, and Helen Reynolds; grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Brown, Emma Rose Smith, Lisa Langston, Michelle and David Waite; and great grandchildren, Corine, Annalise, Olivia, and Avery Langston. She was predeceased by daughter Mary Brown, sisters, Doris Porter and Gert Caroll, and a brother, Art McNally.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 2:00 PM, at St. Paul’s Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
