Sportsman show Saturday benefits Holy Cross Academy
ONEIDA — The eighth annual Central New York Sportsman Show returns to the Kallet Civic Center, 159 Main St., on Saturdayfrom 9 a.m. 4 p.m.
Sponsor Holy Cross Academy aims to make the show a community centered, family-friendly event with admission of $6 per adult and free for those 12 and under. It invites local outdoor experts, businesses, non-profits, and clubs to participate.
School officials say, "This annual event has proven to be one of the best shows in Central New York for hunting, fishing and outdoor enthusiasts. The CNYSS features mount displays, buck scoring, free seminars, vendors and exhibitors, kids’ activities and events, and the Sportsman of the Year Award."
FLW tour Bass Angler of the Year Jamie Hartman and award-winning wildlife artist Tom Lenweaver are among this year’s featured speakers. The popular Adirondack hunters the Salerno Brothers will also return for the third consecutive year. The Utica Zoo will entertain children and adults at 11 a.m. with a show featuring mammals, birds and reptiles. A mounted polar bear will also be on display.
Holy Cross Academy is an independent Catholic school at 4020 Barrington Road, Oneida Castle.
