Get your scorecard ready.
The New York Beef Industry Council is once again on a quest to find the best burger in New York in its "Best Burger in New York" contest.
The contest is designed to find the best burger served in a New York restaurant. Consumers/Patrons are encouraged to nominate a great tasting burger from a restaurant they visit from Feb. 1 to March 15. Nomination survey and contest rules are available online at www.nybeef.org voting can be done on www.NewYorkBestBurger.com.
Jean O’Toole, director of public relations and promotions for the New York Beef Industry Council, said the "Best Burger in New York" is a great opportunity for smaller burger bars, pubs and restaurants to get attention. "Just ask South Trenton Pub in Barneveld 2011 winners how the contest turned their burger business upside down!"
Ten regional restaurants will be selected based on number of votes received. Each restaurant will then be secretly judged based on taste, originality, presentation and service.
Each restaurant will have regional bragging rights; however the restaurant that wins the Best Burger in New York contest will receive a Best Burger 2012 plaque to hang in their restaurant. The more nominations a restaurant receives, the better the chances that they will be selected. The regional winners will be announced after the contest, the winning restaurant will be announced in May 2012 to celebrate May Beef Month.
