Help asked in hit-run

VERONA — A hit and run accident in which a pedestrian was struck by a large vehicle is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, and they are asking for help in finding the driver who fled.

Deputies said a large sports-utility vehicle or pickup, believed to be gray or silver in color, struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Routes 31 and 365 at about 4 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20. The vehicle then took off.

That stop-light intersection is right outside a Sav-On gas station and Joel’s Front Yard Steakhouse.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has information about the vehicle is asked to call Deputy Melissa Bolton at 765-2772. All calls will be kept confidential.
