Circus gives three shows Saturday

ONEIDA — The Zonta Club of Oneida sponsors the Billy Martin’s Cole All-Star Circus at Oneida High School with performances at 1, 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday.

The circus will once again present three shows "in response to overwhelming demand and support by standing-room only crowds in previous years," promoters said.

All students aged 12 and under in the Oneida, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, Canastota and Stockbridge school districts will receive free tickets. Advance sale student and adult tickets may be purchased for $7 in the lobby of the Kallet Civic Center from 4-7 p.m. Jan. 24-27, and on the day of the circus from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Zonta Club receives a bigger percentage of profit from the pre-sale tickets so members are encouraging area residents to purchase tickets early. Children must be accompanied by an adult with a limit of two free children per adult. Extra tickets are $12 each at the door. Early arrival is recommended.

The circus is a major fund-raiser for the Oneida Area Zonta Club and its high school affiliate, the Z Club. All proceeds from the circus’ three performances will help fund scholarship awards for area women returning to the workforce, young women going to college and a scholarship to an environmental camp for a middle school child.
