Knights need to rally past C-NS on the road
CICERO — The one-beaten Rome Free Academy Black Knights scored three goals in the final period to claim a 4-1 comeback victory over Section III Division I East foe Cicero-North Syracuse on Friday night at Cicero Twin Rinks.
C-NS grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the first period off a goal from Matt Fiume with an assist from Eric Hamilton.
RFA tied the score at 1-all in the second and had a three-goal outburst in the final frame while the defense and junior netminder Andrew Ross, who finished with 17 saves in net, played shutout hockey throughout.
Senior forward Garrett Reilley tallied a three-goal hat trick, as Justin Hussey had a goal and Nick Mecca and Mike Perkarski both added assists for the Romans, which moved to 6-0 in the league standings and 12-1 overall.
C-NS dropped to 3-3 in the league and 9-6 overall.
Goalie Alex Johnston finished with 18 saves.
RFA defeated the Northstars earlier this season, 6-1.
The Romans were scheduled to host Pelham from Section I this afternoon at Kennedy Arena before visiting Pulaski on Tuesday night at 7:30.
