Charged in domestic dispute
A 51-year-old man is accused of shoving his ex-girlfriend into a kitchen counter and then breaking her cell phone when she tried to call for help.
Sheriff’s deputies said Scott B. Stockbridge, of 7108 Rome-Oriskany Road, was in a domestic dispute with his ex at their shared apartment at 7:13 p.m. Monday. In a statement to police, the victim said they were arguing because she wanted Stockbridge to move out.
Deputies said Stockbridge pulled the woman’s hair and then shoved her against the counter. When she tried to call 9-1-1, deputies said Stockbridge snatched the phone out of her hand and threw it across the room. The phone broke, so the woman told authorities that she ran to a relative’s neighboring apartment.
Stockbridge is charged with fourth-degree mischief and second-degree harassment, authorities stated. He was arraigned in City Court and was sent to county jail on $750 cash bail or bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court on Jan. 25.
