Ethel Zayicek Entelisano, 87, Lee, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in the Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Johnstown on March 25, 1924, a daughter of Stanley and Maria Ralbovsky Zayicek. She has been a Town of Lee resident for the past 47 years. She was joined in marriage to John C. Entelisano on November 28, 1942, a blessed union of 67 years. John passed away on February 2, 2009.

Prior to her retirement, her professional career was highlighted by employment at the family owned Entelisano Insurance Agency in Rome. She was actively involved in politics and served as a board of elections inspector for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.

She enjoyed sports of all kinds, including those that her children and grandchildren were active in. As a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees, she rarely missed a game. Her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.

Ethel is survived by her beloved family; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Karen Burke of Winthrop, Maine; Mary and Robert White of Carrollton, Ohio; Josephine and James Vaccaro of Lee; Katherine and Ronald Renziehausen of Pittsburgh, PA; Nancy and Richard Loreto of Lee; Barbara and Dwight Davidson of Watertown; four sons and daughters-in-law, John J. and Brenda Entelisano of Bellefontaine, Ohio; Joseph and Michelle Entelisano of Lee; Bruce and Lisa Entelisano of Rome; and Michael and Maureen Entelisano of Rome. She was the proud grandmother of twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her only living sister, Mildred Zayicek Baker, one of fourteen brothers and sisters in her family; and two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Entelisano and Mary Cangiano of Johnstown.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. Joseph’s Church, Lee Center for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Pastor James Tormey officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
