Grant allows insulation of museum’s Mercantile building
BOONVILLE — The Boonville Black River Canal Museum’s Mercantile Building ceiling has been insulated thanks to a $2,800 grant from The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc., the Helen Ney Best Crouse Fund. The grant money was used to insulate the ceiling in the Mercantile Building. The work was done by H & K Insulation, Inc. from Holland Patent.
The work was started in mid-December and was completed by Christmas. Museum Board members and volunteers stated that "the insulation process went smoothly" and they "were impressed with the professionalism of the crew" from H & K Insulation, Inc. as well as their work ethic.
