MWPAI class signup under way in Utica

Registration is under way for 14 new spring Community Arts Education classes, some starting right away, at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, 310 Genesee St., Utica.

Register at or or call 797-8260. First-time students receive a 10 percent discount on tuition only.

New classes are in drawing, painting, digital photography, photography, pottery, jewelry/metal arts, printmaking, comics, scrapbooking, quilting, illustration and Photoshop.

Children can register for Mini Monet for ages 4-5; ArtBox I ages 6-8; or ArtBox II ages 9-12. Classes include projects that allow students to experience several areas of art, including painting, drawing and sculpture.

Classes for teen-agers include painting and drawing, illustration and introductory Photoshop.

A Portfolio Development Class for students in grades 10-12 will also be offered. The classes will allow students to work on their portfolio for college admission.

Dance classes for adults, teens and children feature ballet, tap and jazz. Participants can choose from classes that run from five to 14 weeks to accommodate their schedules.
